Students play an important part in the successful functioning of their communities. Whether that community includes their school, town, county, region, state, nation, or world, student service to their communities has long been an important part of applications to groups such as the National Honor Society, for application to colleges, and for scholarship opportunities. With the addition of the culminating project and portfolio to the graduation requirements for students in the class of 2008 and beyond, community services is now a part of the normal high school experience for every student.

Lists of possible community service activities as well as ways to track, document, and manage those hours will be made available here as they are developed. In the meantime, you may email Counselor Matt Whitmire with questions or comments about this new requirement.
