When is the final for this class?
The final test for this class will be on January 23 (1st period) and January 24 (2nd & 4th period) Class periods on that day are two hours long.
How much is the test worth?
The test is worth 125 points, or approximately 10% of your course grade.
What will it look like?
It will consist of 125 multiple choice questions, similar to the types of unit tests you've been taking all semester long
What will the questions cover:
How should I prepare for the final?
Digging out your old unit sections, quizzes, tests, notes, and assignments early is the best way to prepare. Start reviewing old material as soon as you can, and make new notes about information that you've forgotten. (see calendar on back)
How should I study?
Start studying early. Spend no more than 20 minutes at a time reviewing and studying, then take a break. Don’t wait until the day before to begin; studies show that you learn material better, and recall it faster, if you engage in multiple review sessions over time, rather than a single long study session. Try reviewing one unit a day. As you review material, prioritize items that seem most important or that are hardest for you to remember. Then prepare your notecard.
What notecard?
During the test you may use a single 3 x 5 notecard with notes on both sides. However, if you choose to use one, you must create it yourself. Copies of someone else's notes are not acceptable and will result in a failing grade on the test for ALL students using the same cards. If you use a card, you must turn it in at the end of the test. Make sure your name is on it.
Will there be any short answer or essay questions on the test?
There will be one extra credit short answer item on the test. You don't' have to answer it but can earn extra points by doing so.
What will I do after I finish the test?
If you'd like to keep copies of any of the work you've created this semester and left on the computers' hard drives, make a copy of that work on your own floppy disks. The computers will be reformatted after the semester ends and all work will be lost. Otherwise you'll turn in your textbooks and find out if you have any fines for them.
