To complete your unit projects, you'll need to think about the essential questions, design projects that will help you anwer them, and successfully complete the projects. The information below should help you do this.Major Projects are worth the most points, and should be the ones that interest you the most. Minor Projects are a step down, in terms of completeness, time spent, and interest. Outline Projects are those that are very limited in terms of details, but which, with a bit more work and attention, could easily reach the level of Minor or Major Projects. Use the chart below to compare how the three types of projects might be completed.
Suggested length is provided to give you a way to compare the three projects. Since it is possible that one of your projects will be a written product (essay, report, etc.) another will be a presentation (speech, debate, etc.) while another will be a visual (poster, collage, graph, etc.) it's pretty hard to compare "length". However, assuming all three projects were of the same "type" you could compare their written length (in paragraphs), their presentation length (in minutes) or their visual length (in visual components). These length comparisons are there to give you an idea about the depth and scope of each project, but they are not requirements. Use them to get comfortable with the amount of time, thought, energy, and effort you'll need to use for each project.
